The Binary Culture

When you compare Binary Group to other firms in the industry, you will see a difference—in the caliber of work we do, in the type of relationships we have with our customers, and in the way we balance professional and personal goals.

As a member of the Binary staff, you will find rich opportunities to make a difference through the types of work engagements we offer, and by participating in the various forums that shape the way we do business. And, you will recognize that we embrace a set of core values that help create what we call Binary's "culture of belonging."

"As a group, we describe ourselves as collaborative, unpretentious, innovative, entrepreneurial, and—most of all—fun."

A Binarian

Even as the company continues to grow, Binary is dedicated to maintaining a corporate culture that is collaborative, inclusive, responsive, flexible, and employee-centered. We feel it is important to acknowledge that life is fleeting, priorities are dynamic, and employee time and energy must be balanced between personal and professional endeavors. We cannot promise there will never be long weeks or late hours, but we can stand behind a great policy and flexibility in work schedules as project demands allow.

Aligning Staff Talent to Customer Need

Binary uses the Gallup Organization's "Strengths Finder" survey to help Binarians identify their strengths profile. This ensures the most successful work engagements for both the employee and the customer. We want all Binary staff members to feel motivated by the type of work they are assigned and by their ability to make a significant contribution to the success of their projects and the company as a whole.

At the end of the day, Binarians have little doubt that they work in a warm environment with the best and brightest colleagues, and that their work really makes a difference in helping customers find creative solutions to critical issues.

Creating Teams to Optimize Customer Deliverables

Binary uses High Performance Team Management to bring Binarians together in small focused-delivery teams. These personal, hands-on work groups facilitate planning, continuity, training, career growth, and mentoring. The close relationships among staff and the sharing of meaningful information result in greater productivity, enhanced customer service, and a higher quality of work.

Facilitating Ongoing Internal Communication

We recognize quality communication as a key element of a growing business with an evolving culture and infrastructure. Honest dialogue coupled with an open-door policy encourages Binary staff to share their thoughts, opinions, and recommendations with CEO Rose Wang and the Binary Leadership Team members.

Binary communication vehicles include:

  • Weekly email communiqués from the CEO
  • Quarterly newsletters mailed to all employees' homes
  • Regularly scheduled project team meetings and cross-project team and technology practice meetings
  • The Binary Forum—an internal collaboration website
  • Quarterly meetings of all employees—two of which are for internal company purposes, and two of which are social in nature and include employees' family members

Binarians Describe Their Company Culture:

  • Supportive, caring, family-like
  • Responsive, collaborative, highly professional
  • True to the corporate values
  • Open to creative and innovative problem-solving
  • Embracing diversity in age, race, backgrounds, skill sets
